SGI inaugurates its new headquarters in Frosinone and announces planned investments of €120 million in energy infrastructure in 2026

Among those attending were SGI Chairman Francesco Profumo, the Lazio Region Councillor for Housing Policies and Civil Protection, Pasquale Ciacciarelli, and the Mayor of Frosinone, Riccardo Mastrangeli.

Frosinone, November 25th, 2025 – Contributing to the development of an increasingly modern, efficient and sustainable energy ecosystem by planning investments of €120 million in new skills and infrastructure in 2026. This was the announcement made today by Società Gasdotti Italia (SGI), a leading company in natural gas transmission, during the event “Energy, Innovation, Territory”, held on the occasion of the inauguration of SGI’s new headquarters in Frosinone.

Attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony were Pasquale Ciacciarelli, Councillor for Housing Policies and Civil Protection of the Lazio Region; Riccardo Mastrangeli, Mayor of Frosinone; and Francesco Profumo, Chairman of SGI. In their speeches, they emphasized the importance of natural gas energy infrastructure for national security, the transition toward lower-impact energy sources, and the enhancement of local communities.

During the morning, a roundtable discussion titled “Perspectives on the Country’s Energy Infrastructure” also took place, featuring Marilena Barbaro, Director General of the Directorate for Energy Sources and Authorisation Titles at MASE*; Massimo Derchi, CEO of Snam Rete Gas; Marta Bucci, Director General of Proxigas; Nunzio Ferrulli, Director of Institutional Relations and Regulatory Affairs at Italgas; and Massimo Ricci, Director of the Energy Division at ARERA*. The discussion focused on technological innovation, network resilience, security of supply, and the strategic role of natural gas in the evolution of Italy’s energy system.

“With the inauguration of our new headquarters, we are strengthening not only our presence in the territory but also our commitment to contributing to the transformation of the Italian energy system, with the goal of investing more than €120 million in technology, new skills and infrastructure in 2026,” said Roberto Loiola, CEO of Società Gasdotti Italia. “Gas infrastructure will continue to be a fundamental pillar in supporting the country’s transition toward a more sustainable and resilient energy mix, and SGI will continue to play a leading role in this journey, working with institutions, operators and partners to build a safer and more competitive energy future.”

SGI’s new headquarters, resulting from the renovation of the historic building and a new extension, was designed according to advanced energy efficiency and environmental performance standards. The company is in the final stages of obtaining LEED Gold certification, further demonstrating its ongoing commitment to increasingly sustainable management of its infrastructure.
