Rome, October 31, 2024 – Società Gasdotti Italia (SGI), a leader in the natural gas sector and in developing innovative decarbonization projects, confirms its position at the forefront of sustainability, achieving a prestigious ranking in the GRESB benchmark, the global agency specializing in ESG evaluations for infrastructure companies. With a total score of 96 out of 100 and a 5-star rating, SGI ranked second among international natural resources transportation companies, surpassing both the average score of its category (90) and the GRESB average (86).
These results confirm SGI’s ongoing progress toward sustainable development and the implementation of efficient environmental policies. The 8-point increase in SGI’s rating since 2021 reflects a dedicated commitment to new ESG policy initiatives.
In the 2024 evaluation, SGI scored 39 out of 40 in Management (Leadership, Policies, Reporting, Risk Management, and Stakeholder Engagement) and 57 out of 60 in ESG KPI performance metrics (Energy, GHG Emissions, Air Pollution, Water, Biodiversity & Habitat, Health & Safety, Employees, Certification & Awards). Additionally, SGI achieved maximum scores in the Environment (33) and Social (39) components, surpassing peer averages by 3 and 2 points respectively. In Governance, SGI’s overall score rose by 2 points from 2023 (24/28), thanks to concrete internal actions, including strengthening ESG leadership with the establishment of dedicated ESG and Enterprise Risk Management steering committees and the adoption of new corporate policies, such as the Diversity & Inclusion policy.
